The day before Easter was a big day for Kaleb and Taylor. Kaleb had been working on this proposal for sometime. It had to be hard for him, to keep the thing that he had been working on, that he was so excited for, from the person that he shared everything with. He told me he was excited to finally propose because he did not like keeping a secret from Taylor. Kaleb orchestrated the event well, and the events proceeded just as planned!
Taylor’s birthday was the upcoming Tuesday, so Kaleb used that as the perfect cover up! His mother gave Taylor a gift certificate to one of the best nail salons in Dallas. Taylor, her mother, and grandmother made a day out of it, and all went to the nail salon together! Afterwards, Taylor was was expecting to go out to dinner and join Kaleb as well. Kaleb and I waited in the outside gardens at the Omni Mandalay Hotel, walking distance from Taylor’s nail appointment, waiting for Taylor to finish with her nails, and while receiving text updates from her mother. When done with the nail appointment, she was handed a gift from the nail artist. Inside the gift was a poem, written by Kaleb, directing her to the spot where he would be standing.
“Now that your nails are done,
It’s time to have some fun!
See the door that leads to the lake?
That is the one you should take.
Go out the door, turn to your right,
Hurry along- We don’t have all night!
A surprise awaits you,
One I think you’ll embrace;
Know that it’s about to happen
When you see a familiar face.”
Taylor walked around the corner, next to the beautiful Mandalay Canal, to view Kaleb standing in the distance. She continued her way towards him, and soon enough, he was down on one knee, asking her to be his forever.
**Also brides, Kaleb is a talented videographer! I’ve worked alongside him at a couple weddings. He happened to meet Taylor at one of the weddings where he was filming.
