Ashlyn has been looking forward to her senior picture for quite some time! I’m so thankful we waited until the beautiful Texas weather that comes in early March.
Ashlyn told me that she loves golden backlighting which is my very favorite aspect of shooting with natural light. This girl spoke my love language! We were incredibly blessed with great lighting for the day of her shoot.
This cute girl is such a sweetheart and a natural beauty! We had so much fun chatting as we explored the nature landscapes. Her blonde hair and gentle smile glowed even brighter with the addition of the golden sun. She has a great future ahead of her and a great perspective on life during the upcoming transitional times. I’m excited to see how she continues to chase her dreams!
We included some photos with basketball because this sport has played such a large part in Ashlyn’s life. Ashlyn plays for a select team that is about to head to nationals! She also plans to play in college.
Keep shining bright, Ashlyn! <3

Jessica and Kris wed on an overcast winter day. The weather might have been cold and drizzly, but all who were in attendance had warm hearts as they watched these two lovebirds tie the knot.
The day was made all the more special by the team of family and friends who came together to help the day turn out as a success. The decorations and colors fit perfectly with the woodland winter theme. The reception’s live music was performed by long time family friends of the bride and groom, making it all the more heartfelt.
Jessica and Kris have such a precious love story. Their reception had photo albums with pictures of the two of them throughout the years at life’s big milestones, such as graduation and high school prom. It was special for me to see how pictures, even years later, can mean so much when there is a relationship story such as this.
These bridesmaid dresses were the perfect color for a winter wedding!

Arlington Hall at Lee Park served as a classy venue for the space where Emily and Chris would tie the knot and celebrate with their excited family and friends.
This day was extremely heart felt and full of love. The love that their family and friends showed the new Dugan couple truly melted my heart.

The Broadstreet’s day began on a brisk November morning- one of the first days of 2016 where a slight chill could be felt in the air.
These two opted for a brunch wedding. Their dream day was executed with the greatest of ease. Taylor’s handiwork could be seen in the beautiful details, decorations, and most uniquely-DONUTS!
All of the guests enjoyed witnessing Kaleb & Taylor tie the knot- from the beautiful heartfelt ceremony at the Hidden Pines Chapel, to eating from the delicious breakfast buffet and donut collection.
Taylor’s bouquet commemorated her sweet “Poppy!”
Taylor’s bridesmaids got ready in some comfy, yet adorable flannels!

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you have probably seen me post photos of or with one of these two beautiful women! Arlee and Elizabeth are both two of my best friends. I feel so blessed to be close to the both of them, and I love how God has used our friendship to bring us closer to Him and the pursuits of HIs calling on our lives.
These women have been there throughout the beginning and continued growth of my business and artistry. They modeled for me and believed in me when I hardly knew how to operate a camera, and they continue to support me through my growth today, including modeling for a spontaneous shoot, celebrating the upcoming Christmas season!
Christmas is a very exciting and beautiful season. In Texas, it is not until this time that the leaves on the trees finally begin to change color. Despite the chill in the air, it is a great time to shoot. I had the idea of throwing together a spontaneous shoot at this beautiful treed location we came across, and I’m so happy these two agreed to model for me once more.
I had such a great time spending this fall afternoon with Elisabeth. She is a woman of many, many talents with a wonderful future ahead of her!
Elisabeth looked beautiful in both the city and nature backdrops, incorporating both into this session was a lot of fun. I love, love, LOVE her stunning cobalt blue dress and don’t get me started on how much I loved photographing Elisabeth with her guitar and ukelele!
PLANS AFTER GRADUATION: “I plan to go to college at Baylor University!”
FAVORITE SONG? “Every Tear” by Matthew West
MY DREAM TRIP WOULD BE TO GO TO… “Italy, or really any place in Europe. But I’ve always wanted to go to Italy for some reason. Also I’d love to go to Israel…”
MY FAVORITE PART OF HIGH SCHOOL HAS BEEN…. “So far I’ve really enjoyed Junior year the most because we got our lettermen jackets, became a part of NHS, became Seniors at graduation, and I ran for (and became a part of) Student Council for 2016/2017. I’m really excited for this school year.”
THE PERFECT DAY FOR ME WOULD BE LIKE… “Either one spent just relaxing and having fun with my closest friends, or one spent doing anything music-related.”
FAVORITE PLACE TO HANG OUT? “A pool, my house, or my friend Baylee’s house.”
WHAT ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH? “Music, audio recording, and videography. Volleyball a bit too.”
GREATEST RECENT PURCHASE? “A Nord Piano 2 (electric keyboard) for performances and YouTube videos.”
DREAM JOB? “Right now my biggest dream for a job is being in the worship band at Lake Pointe Church. I think I would be the happiest if I had a job that involved music, like in a recording studio or something.”
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE MEGAN KAY PHOTOGRAPHY? “Ever since you started photography I’ve wanted to use you just because I know you and I’d be more comfortable with someone that I’ve had the chance to know. Plus over the years I’ve watched your posts and seen your work and I’ve really come to admire it. I love how your senior pictures from last year turned out.”
The Moye Wedding was a literal dream. All of the details and hard work came together to make October 15th the greatest beginning for the marriage of James and Regan.
Regan and James are so loved and cherished by their friends and family. While the day was full of joy, emotions were also high. James is in the Airforce, and weeks after the two of them wed, they made the move from Texas to Alaska.
This was a special day that every family member and guest will remember; I was so blessed to capture it with photographs, so that these moments can live on…
Regan and her mother share a moment…
One of the most beautiful prayers over Regan and James as they begin this journey…
Regan’s first look with her father.
Mr. Moye passed down his watch to his son.
The moment you realize that you just got married…
Minutes after they said their I do’s, we waited for the next part of the day in the bridal suite.
I can’t get over how cute these two are.
Oh, Michelle and Derek were a dream to photograph! We spent an evening together in Downtown Dallas, miles away from where the two of them went on their first date.
This city has been a large part of their story. It has been the location of many of their favorite dates and Derek’s proposal. I was so excited when I heard that they wanted to use the city as a backdrop for their engagement photos!
Michelle and Derek have a playful love that is full of joy. They possess an abundance of gratitude for the Lord bringing them together in His perfect timing. I loved capturing the way that they treasure one another with the happiness that they share.
I’m so excited for their upcoming summer wedding!
The Walton’s had a special idea to celebrate their first year of marriage. One time was not enough for these two to wear their beautiful wedding attire. To commemorate their successful first year of marriage, Kristin and Ian suited up and relived their 2015 Fall Wedding.
The fall season and changing leaf colors inspired the jewel toned color scheme for the shoot. Ashley at The Rogue Rose created beautiful floral arrangements. She is truly gifted with arranging colors, florals, and foliage.
Sheri at Sweet Ricreations designed the elegant four tiered cake. Her design skills and detail are incredible. The cake was adorned with hand crafted and edible flowers. They matched the floral arrangements perfectly!
I could not have been happier with the amazing work of both the vendors! They are the sweetest and most gifted individuals.
I had so much fun photographing the Walton’s anniversary session. They danced, they laughed, they kissed, they celebrated. This shoot was a nice reminder that the wedding is just a beginning of a wonderful life together. Happy one year anniversary to these two <3
